Initially inspired by the Arab Spring and later drawing from the wider phenomenon of revolution as a whole - Guerrillas in the Mist - takes a look at political and social unrest from both an exterior and interior perspective. Several of the works contend with the chaotic and histrionic elements of a revolt. Likening it to an aggressive ballet, these works focus on the physical act of social change, the sweat and toil - the ecstasy and the agony.
The remaining works dig a little deeper into the domestic, inner workings of a revolution. Here the pace slows, and we encounter works that meditate on the more emotional aspects of upheaval.
We find martyrs in reflection, apprehensive mothers and eager inheritors. We also glimpse the more sinister acts behind the curtain, the bloodless violence of the propaganda machine.
